The master-mind behind this amazing project and the lead photographer. She specializes in family, children and newborn portraiture, you can find her at Alegares Photography. She is also a first time mom to a beautiful baby girl, she was so concerned about her pregnancy and delivery that breastfeeding was something that she never really thought about, it took her by surprise all of the discomfort it caused and she was ready to give it up but fortunately she had the support from both her mother and sister who encouraged her to keep going.

He is Alexia’s amazing brother, one of Alegares’ amazing photographers (see his work in Ecuador and our NYC Latch On’s!) and our awesome videographer! He is in charge of post processing the video footage from all of our events. With his creativity and his passion for artistic expression he is able to create breath taking videos that will help us promote and expand our goals widely.

Lisa has been a passionate voice within our Breastfeeding World team since it’s conception. As a Single Mother of 3, trained doula, and Early Childhood educator, Lisa understands the importance of lifting up and supporting families in their journeys. Breastfeeding World would not be what it is today without her support, love, and ideas.

Betty Rose

Betty Rose is a writer and the voice behind the #MomLife Column. Born and raised on the Pacific Island of Guam, she now resides in Seattle, Washington. After having her first child, she began sharing her new role as a Chamorro mother living in the stats and continues to contribute feature stories of Pacific Island communities in other publications. She embraces the diversity, the struggles of motherhood and hopes that, through her writing, she can break and bring awareness to the barriers set on mothers and minority families across the world.

I am a single mom to the most amazing little boy in the entire world. He is the light of my life! We also have the two sweetest doggies who complete our little family. I am a high school teacher and a photographer, and am very passionate about breastfeeding, babywearing, attachment parenting, and raising my son in the most natural way possible!

Alyia Cutler

A birth doula formerly out of Brooklyn, we moved our family to the foot of Mt Beacon in the Hudson Valley, NY. Between raising two kids, a greyhound and a sphynx cat- and supporting birthing people and their families through pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum, I have my hands full- and my heart more so! My life is a constant stream of breastmilk, grocery shopping and gratitude.

Kat Hovey

Katherine Hovey is a young first time mom, stationed on Guam, living life over 7,900 air miles away from her home and everyone she knows as she navigates her place in life as a mother. Currently she is studying to become a Certified Medical Assistance and spends her free time volunteering as a writer for Soldier’s Angels and a part time freelance photographer. Katherine’s motivation is the compassion she has for others. Ultimately she wishes to reach out and impact every life she can touch. Whether that’s getting the chance to help out a family in need, finding a home for an abandoned dog or getting the opportunity to hear someone’s story. She is an avid people person yearning to make a change and leave her mark on this world while never ceasing to observe the world’s lost beauty. Kristina Garcia

Kristina is the mother of 4 and has experienced a wide variety of birth events from trauma to loss. She has been married to her soul mate for 10yrs. She started her business after the birth of her second daughter which she says “was a very healing birth in comparison to her first childbirth experience.” She has been photographing life events since she was a teenager and decided to pursue birth photography professionally after attending several friends and families births in 2015. Her favorite thing about being a business owner is “owning my own businesses allow me to have the flexibility to stay home and homeschool my kids who are 2yrs, 4yrs, 7yrs and 8yrs old.”

Kristina is a Certified Child Labor Doula, CBI Certified Placenta Preparation Arts Specialist, APPA Certified Sacred Belly Bind Wrap Artist, Sacred Pregnancy Certified Child Passenger Seat Technician, Safekids Worldwide She has recently created a radio show on Nuubeatradio.com with her co-host and doula business partner Katelyn White called ” Two Moms and a Mic” where they speak on all topics relating to parenthood including birth, postpartum and family dynamic shifts after children.
