Thoughts like yours, “Did she give up breastfeeding due to lack of support? Or lack of education? Why would you CHOOSE to formula feed?” are EXACTLY the reason why women feel they need to “explain” their choice to formula feed their child. No mom should be questioned for her choices. We shouldn’t assume we are more informed than other moms simply because our choices are different.

I agree! I’m always concerned about stepping on another moms toes, whether they’re struggling with breastfeeding or are formula feeding- I never want to come across as pushy which is difficult when you are so passionate about something!

Great post! I agree with the sentiment of this article so much. I often find myself, not so much judging, but rather wondering “Did she give up breastfeeding due to lack of support? Or lack of education? Why would you CHOOSE to formula feed?” Of course every mom has their own reasons, I just pray that moms make INFORMED decisions. And heck, even as a loud and proud breastfeeder, such as yourself, I find myself thinking “How would life be different if I just bottle fed”.
